Pasta With Sausage, Pepper And Tomatoes Recipe
Ingredients
Penne or similar pasta (1pound), dried marjoram leaves (1tbsp), dried thyme leaves (1tsp), whole tomatoes crushed with finger with juice (2cans), minced garlic (6large cloves), dried basil leaves (2tbsp), slightly crushed fennel seeds (2tsp), coarsely chopped red bell pepper (1medium), coarsely chopped green bell pepper (3medium), chopped onion (1small), bulk mild Italian sausage (1pound) and olive oil (4tbsp).
Method of preparation:-
Take a large frying pan, place it over medium heat. Add oil in it and then saute sausage in it until gets lightly brown for about 5 minutes, breaking its lumps as it cooks. Now add onions, pepper, a tablespoon of basil, fennel seeds, salt and pepper. Saute those until the pepper get slightly tender for about 5 minutes. Add garlic and again saute it. Now add tomatoes and remaining basil, thyme, marjoram, salt and pepper. Stir them well. Now reduce the heat to medium low and cover the pan and simmer until the tomatoes are broken down and peppers get tender about 20 minutes. Take off the lid and cook until sauce gets slightly thicken. Cook pasta in salted water and then drain it. Add it to the sauce. Mix it and serve it immediately.
