Homemade Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Milk (3/4c)
2. shortening (3tbsp)
3. salt (1/2tsp)
4. baking powder (2tsp)
5. parsley flakes (1tbsp if desired)
6. Gold Medal all ½ purpose flour (1c)

Method of preparation:-

1. Take a bowl of medium size, mix, flour, baking powder, salt and parsley in it.

2. Cut it in shortening with pastry blender into fine crumbs and then mix milk in it. Mix it properly to form soft dough. Then drop the dough by 10 tablespoonfuls into the vegetable or hot meat boiling stew.

3. Keep it to cook uncovered for about 10 minutes and then cover the pan and keep it to cook for 10 minutes more.

Makes – 10 dumplings

Hearty Chicken Stew With Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Bisquick mix (1c)
2. no-salt-added stewed tomatoes (1can about 14.5oz)
3. pepper (1/8tsp)
4. garlic salt (1/8tsp)
5. Italian seasoning (1/2tsp)
6. Ketchup (1tbsp)
7. water (3/4c)
8. cut-up cooked chicken breast (1c)
9. frozen broccoli, carrots and cauliflower (2c)
10. garlic salt (1/8tsp)
11. parsley flakes (1/2tsp)
12. fat free milk (1/3c)

Method of preparation:-

1. Take a saucepan of 2 quarter, add chicken, tomatoes, pepper, 1/8 teaspoon of garlic salt, Italian seasoning, Ketchup, water and vegetables in it. Cook all these until the mixture gets boiling by stirring irregularly.

2. Take a small bowl, mix bisquick, 1/8 teaspoon of garlic salt, parsley flakes, milk in it to form soft dough.

3. Then drop the dumplings by 6 tablespoonfuls into the stew. Now turn down the heat to low and keep it to simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes and then cover the pan and keep it to simmer for more 10 minutes.

Cranberry Apple Dumplings With Crimson Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
For sauce:-
1. Red cinnamon candies (2tbsp)
2. orange juice or water (1/4c)
3. whole berry cranberry sauce (1can about 16 ounces)

For pastry:-

1. Gold Medal®all purpose flour (3c)
2. shortening (1c+1tbsp)
3. cold water (6 to 7tbsp)
4. salt (3/4tsp)

For apples:-

1. Cooking apples, peeled and cored (4small)
2. slightly beaten egg (1)
3. sugar (4tsp)
4. fresh mint leaves (if desired)
5. Additional sugar (if desired).

Method of preparation:-

1. First heat the oven to 400 degrees F. Take a large cookie sheet with shortening. Take a saucepan of 1 quarter, place it over medium heat. Cook candies, orange juice and cranberry sauce in it by stirring it irregularly until the candies get melted. Then take off the pan from heat.

2. Take a bowl of medium size; cut shortening by using pastry blender into flour and salt. Dust 1 tablespoon (at a time) of cold water; mix it until the flour gets moistened. Then roll the pastry into rectangular shape and cut them into 8-inch squares with knife.

3. Now take apples and place them on each pastry square and then place the cranberry sauce of 1 tablespoon on each apple. Dust 1 teaspoon of sugar on it. Join the opposites corner of pastry up over apple and seal them. Seal all the edges of pastry. Now place the dumplings in pan, apply the beaten egg over the dumplings and then dust the additional sugar over it.

4. Place the pan in preheated oven of 400 degrees F and bake them for about 30 minutes until the apple gets soft and the crust changes to golden brown. Decorate each dumpling with mint leaves and then serve them hot with left over sauce mixture.

Chicken-Vegetable Soup With Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Original Bisquick mix (1c)
2. cut up cooked chicken (2c)
3. Fresh steamer frozen mixed vegetables, thawed and drained (1 bag about 12 oz)
4. finely chopped garlic (2cloves)
5. chopped fresh thyme leaves (1tbsp)
6. chopped fresh parsley (1tbsp)
7. Progresso chicken broth (1carton about 4c)
8. milk (1/3c).

Method of preparation:-

1. Take a saucepan of 3 quarter. Put all the ingredients in the pan except Bisquick and milk. Keep them to boil by stirring them irregularly.

2. Take a small bowl, mix bisquick and milk in it to form soft dough. Then drop it by 18 teaspoonfuls into the boiling soup. Keep the dumplings on the top of the broth with the help of slotted spoon.

3. Now turn down the heat to medium-low. Keep it to cook uncovered for about 10 minutes. Then cover the pan and keep it to cook for 15 minutes more.

Chicken Stew With Classic Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Chicken broth (6c from two 32-oz cartons)
2. cubed cooked chicken (3c)
3. chopped onion (1large about 1c)
4. pepper (1/2tsp)
5. thinly sliced carrots (3med. About 1 1/2c)
6. coarsely chopped celery stalks (4med. About 2c)
7. vegetable oil (2tbsp)

For Dumplings:-

1. gold medal@Self rising flour (1 1/2c)
2. chopped fresh parsley (2tbsp)
3. shortening (1/4c)
4. chicken broth (1/2c)

Method of preparation:-
1.Take a large saucepan or a Dutch oven, place it over medium heat. Heat oil in it and then cook onion, carrots and celery in it by stirring it until they get soft.

2. Mix chicken, 6 cups of broth and pepper in it. Keep it to boil and then reduce the heat to low and keep it to simmer for about 15 minutes.

3. Take a bowl of medium size, add flour in it and cut in shortening, until it looks like coarse crumbs.

4. Add ½ cup of broth and parsley in it until the mixture gets moistened. Then drop the dough onto the chicken stew.

5. Cover the pan and keep it to cook for about 10 to 15 minutes over medium-low heat until the dumplings get soft.

Chicken Soup With Potato Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Bisquick (1 1/2c)
2. crushed garlic (1clove)
3. milk (1/4c)
4. chopped green (1tbsp)
5. pepper (1/8tsp)
6. mashed potatoes, cold (1c)
7. sage, dried, crushed leaves (1/4tsp)
8. sliced celery (1c)
9. chicken broth (6c)
10. sliced carrots (1c)
11. cooked chicken, cut up (2c)
12. vegetable oil (1tbsp)
13. chopped onion (1/4c)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take a Dutch oven of 4 quarter. To make soup in it first heat oil in it and cook garlic and onion in it until onions get changes to brown in color. Then add chicken, sage, broth, carrots, celery in it and cook it until it gets boil.

2. Take a bowl; prepare the dumpling in it by mixing bisquick, milk, mashed potatoes, pepper and green onion to form soft dough.

3. Knead the dough for about 2 minutes until the dough becomes soft. Make about 18 small balls of this dough and then drop the dumplings into the boiling soup.

4. Cook it uncovered for about 10 minutes over low heat. Now cover it and again cook for 10 minutes. Now chicken soup with potato dumpling is ready to serve.

Chicken And Black Pepper Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Original bisquick (1c)
2. condensed creamy chicken soup (1can)
3. cooked chicken, cut up (1c about 5 ounces)
4. frozen carrots, sliced or diced (3/4c)
5. frozen green peas (3/4c)
6. milk (1 1/2c)
7. chopped parsley (if desired)
8. pepper (1/2tsp).

Method of preparation:-
1. Take a saucepan of 3- quarter, Cook 3 cups of milk, carrots, peas, chicken and soup in it until the mixture starts boiling.

2. Take a bowl to prepare dumplings by mixing bisquick, pepper and 1/3 cup of milk in it to form soft dough. Then drop the dumplings into the chicken mixture.

3. Cook it uncovered for about 10 minutes over low heat. Now cover it and again cook it for about 10 minutes more. Dust the parsley over it and then serve it.
