Chicken Fricassee With Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Bisquick (1c)
2. broiler/fryer chicken , cut up (2 ½ to 3 lb)
3. pepper (1/8tsp)
4. paprika (1tsp)
5. baking mix (1c)
6. milk (1 1/2c)
7. condensed cream of chicken soup (1can about 10 1/2oz)
8. butter (1tbsp)
9. shortening (2tbsp)
10. Dumpling dough-poultry seasoning (1/4tsp)
11. parsley flakes (1/2tsp)

Method of preparation:-
1.Take chicken pieces, wash them and pat dry them. Take a plastic bag, mix baking mix, pepper and paprika in it. Put 2 to 3 chicken pieces in bag and shake them to coat thoroughly.

2. Take a large frying pan, melt butter and shortening in it and then fry the chicken until it gets brown from all sides.

3. Take out chicken from pan and drain the fat from the pan. Mix soup and milk in it and then add chicken in it. Cover the pan and keep it to simmer for about 1 hour until the chicken gets soft.

4. Now prepare the dumpling dough by adding poultry seasoning and parsley flakes in liquid. Then drop the dumplings into the chicken with spoonfuls. Keep it to cook uncovered for about 10 minutes. Now cover the pan and again cook it for 10 minutes more.

Vegetable Beef Soup With Egg Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Ground beef (1lb)
2. condensed chicken broth (3cans about 10 ¾ oz)
3. shredded cabbage (2c)
4. frozen peas and carrots (1pkg about 10 oz)
5. water (4c)
6. chopped onion (1/2c)
7. pepper (1/2tsp)
8. egg dumplings

For Egg Dumplings:-
1. Bisquick (1/2c)
2. egg (1)
3. ground nutmeg (1/8tsp)
4. snipped parsley or 2 teaspoon of parsley flakes (1tbsp)
5. grated parmesan cheese (3tbsp)

Method of preparation:-
1. Take Dutch oven, cook ground beef in it until it changes to brown in color and stir it continuously. Then drain it.

2. Add all the remaining ingredients in beef except egg dumplings. Keep the mixture to boil and then reduce the heat to low.

3. Now take a bowl, prepare dumplings in it by mixing bisquick, parsley, cheese and nutmeg in it and then mix the egg in it and mix it well until the mixture gets blended. Then drop the dumplings into the soup with teaspoonfuls. Keep it to simmer uncovered for about 5 minutes until the dumplings get firm.

Number of servings – 6 to 8

Chicken And Rosemary Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Rosemary sprigs (2each)
2. cornstarch dissolved in 1/3 cup of cold water (2tbsp)
3. finely chopped carrots (2each)
4. finely chopped celery stalks (2each)
5. garlic cloves (2each)
6. finely chopped onion (1each)
7. water (3quaters)
8. chicken pieces (5each)

For dumplings-

1. bisquick (2c)
2. water (1 1/4c)
3. fresh rose sprigs (3 each).

Method of preparation:-
1. Take a stockpot, add water in it and then put the chicken to the water in pot. Keep it to boil, cover the pot and then keep it to simmer for about 20 minutes until the chicken gets soft. Take out the chicken from the pot and place in a place to cool.

2. Add onion, celery, garlic and carrots to the stockpot and allow it to simmer. Now cut the chicken into pieces and put the pieces in pot and keep it to simmer for about 30 minutes until the vegetables get soft.

3. To make thick sauce, add the cornstarch mixture into the stock. Meanwhile prepare the dumplings. Take a small pan, boil 1 ¼ cup of water in it. Then take off the pan from heat and add 3 sprigs of rosemary in it. Then strain it and mix it with 2 cups of bisquick.

4. Place the chicken stock again over low heat and then drop the dumpling batter into the pot. Push aside the dumplings with a spoon to avoid clumping. Add 2 more sprigs of rosemary in it.

5. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot and keep it to simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes. Now it is ready to serve.

Meatball Stew With Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1.Vegetables (16 ounces)- peas, cut green beans or sliced carrots
2. cream sour (1/4c)
3. soup, cream of celery (10 ½ ounces)
4. meatballs (1recipe)
5. potatoes, drained and sliced (15 ounces)
6. dumplings, eggs or parsley recipes (1)

For egg Dumplings:-

1. Eggs (2large)
2. bisquick (2c)
3. milk (2tbsp)

Take a bowl, mix eggs, milk and bisquick in it. Mix it well to form soft dough.

For Parsley Dumplings:-

1. Parsley flakes (2tbsp)
2. bisquick (2c)
3. milk (2/3c)

Take a bowl, mix bisquick, parsley flakes and milk in it . Mix it well to form soft dough.

Method of preparation:-
1.First prepare the meatballs and then place them on paper towel to drain the excess fat from them.

2. Add sour cream, soup, potatoes and peas with liquid in Dutch oven and cook it until it gets boiling by stirring it irregularly.

3. Now take the prepared dumplings and then drop spoonful of dough into the boiling stew. Then keep it to simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes. Then cover it and again keep it to simmer for more 10 minutes. Now it is ready to serve.

Southern Style Chicken And Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Bisquick (1/2c)
2. cut up stewing chicken (1)
3. water (5c)
4. sliced onion (1small)
5. celery stalk (4)
6. pepper (1/8tsp)
7. salt (2tsp)
8. carrot cut into ½ inch slices (1med.)
9. For Dumpling (bisquick (1c), milk (1tbsp), egg (1).

Method of preparation:-
1. Take a large pot, place all the ingredients in it except dumpling. Keep this mixture to boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot and cook it for about 2 hours until the chicken gets soft.

2. Take a bowl, prepare the dumplings in it by mixing egg, bisquick and milk in it until the mixture gets moistened.

3. Take out the chicken and vegetables from the stew. Keep the stew to boil and then add ½ cup of bisquick in it to make gravy. Again keep it to boil by stirring to avoid it from sticking. When the gravy gets ready, then drop the dumplings in gravy.

4. Cook it for about 10 minutes. Remove the bones from the chicken. Put the vegetables and chicken again in the gravy and cook it with dumplings for about 15 minutes. When it gets ready then serve it with rice.

Citrus Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Bisquick (1/2c),
2. sugar (2tsp)
3. milk (2tsp)
4. mandarin oranges (11 ounces)
5. ground cinnamon (1/4tsp)
6. cornstarch (2tsp)
7. orange juice (1/2c)
8. shredded orange zest (1/2tsp).

Method of preparation:-
1. Take a casserole of 1 quarter, mix cornstarch, orange juice and ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon in it. Place the casserole uncovered in microwave and cook it for about 2 minutes until it gets bubbly and thickened at 100% power. Stir it every 30 seconds while cooking.

2. Mix shredded orange peel and drained mandarin orange. Again cook it uncovered in microwave for about 2 minutes until the mixture gets heated.

3. Take a bowl, prepare dumplings in it by mixing bisquik with 2 teaspoon of sugar and then add milk mix it until it gets moistened. Then drop it in 4 mounds on the top of orange mixture.

4. Cook it in microwave for about 6 to 7 minutes until the dumplings get set in the mixture at 50 % power.

5. Mix dash of ground cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of sugar and then dust it over the top of dumplings.

Crockpot Chicken And Herb Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1. Bisquick (1c)
2. sour cream (1c)
3. white wine, dry (1/2c)
4. bay leaf (1each)
5. thyme leaves, powdered (1/4tsp)
6. marjoram, powdered (1/4tsp)
7. minced garlic cloves (2each)
8. salt and black pepper (according to taste)
9. chicken (3 pounds)
10. onions, small white (10 each)
11. milk (6 tbsp)
12. freshly chopped parsley leaves (1tbsp)

Method of preparation:-

1. Take chicken, sprinkle it with salt and pepper and then place it in Crockpot.

2. Take garlic cloves and put in one onion and then put all the onions into the pot. Then add wine, bay leaf, thyme, marjoram and garlic in the pot. Cover the pot and cook over low heat for about 5 to 6 hours.

3. Then take out the cloves and bay leaf from the pot. Now add sour cream in it and cook it over high heat.

4. Take a bowl to prepare dumplings by mixing bisquick with parsley and then mix milk in it until it gets well moistened. Then drop the dumplings around the edge of pot with teaspoon. Cover the pot and cook it for 30 minutes over high heat.
