Lemony Baked Catfish Recipe

Ingredients
1. Catfish fillets (1pound)
2. lightly beaten egg white (1)
3. fine dry bread crumbs, seasoned (1c)
4. natural applesauce (3tbsp)
5. vegetable oil (1tbsp)
6. fresh lemon juice (1/4c about 2 lemons)

Method Of Preparation:-

1. First heat the oven to 400 degrees F. Take a large bowl, add egg white, applesauce, vegetable oil and fresh lemon juice in it. Mix all these ingredients well and then add catfish fillets in it. Keep the bowl in the refrigerator to marinate the fish for about an hour.

2. After an hour, take out the fish from the refrigerator and dip in seasoned bread crumbs. Again place the fish fillets in refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

3. Then place the fish in preheated oven and bake it for about 20 minutes at 400 degrees F. Bake the fish until it gets flake easily with fork.

Catfish Marinated In Milk Recipe

Ingredients
1. All purpose flour (1 1/2c)
2. catfish fillets (4 about 8 ounce)
3. baking powder (2tsp)
4. onion powder (1tbsp)
5. melted butter (1c)
6. evaporated milk (1can, 12 fluid ounce)
7. grated parmesan cheese (1/2c)
8. salt and pepper (to taste)
9. ground dry mustard (1tbsp)
10. garlic powder (1tbsp)
11. Italian seasoning (1tbsp)

Method Of Preparation:-

1. Take catfish fillets, wash and then pat dry them. Take a shallow dish, place fish fillets in it and then pour milk over the fillets. Cover the dish and place it in the refrigerator for about 6 hours.

2. Now heat the oven to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F. Take a mixing bowl of large size, add cheese, flour, baking powder, onion powder, dry mustard, garlic powder, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning in the bowl. Mix all these ingredients properly.

3. Then take out the fish from refrigerator and coat with flour mixture. Take a rimmed baking pan, grease it lightly and place the coated fillets in it and then sprinkle melted butter over them.

4. Place the baking pan in preheated oven and bake the fillets at 400 degrees F for about 25 minutes until they get soft and flaky. Now the fish is ready to serve. Serve it hot.

Beer Battered Catfish Recipe

Ingredients
1. Flour (1/4c)
2. cornmeal (1/4c)
3. catfish (3lb)
4. vegetable oil (3c)
5. minced onion (1/4c)
6. beer (1 about 12 ounce)
7. beaten eggs (2)
8. salt and pepper (to taste)

Method Of Preparation:-
1. Take a mixing bowl of medium size, mix cornmeal, flour, pepper and salt in it.

2. Take another mixing bowl of medium size, beat eggs in it and then add minced onions and beer in it. Mix it well. Take catfish, cut it into strips of 2 inch.

3. Take a heavy frying pan, heat oil in it for frying. Take strips of catfish, first roll them in flour mixture and then dip them into the egg-beer mixture and then again coat the fish strips with flour mixture. Now put the coated fish in hot oil for deep fry. Fry fish until it gets golden brown color.

4. Then drain fish on paper towels. Now beer battered fish is ready to serve. Serve it hot with sauce.

Blackened Catfish Recipe

Ingredients
1. Catfish fillets (1pound)
2. cayenne pepper (2tsp)
3. butter (2tbsp)
4. garlic powder (2tsp)
5. lemon powder (2tsp)
6. Italian style salad dressing (1c)
7. pepper (2tsp)
8. salt (2tsp)

Method Of Preparation:-
1. First heat the oven to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F. Take a baking dish of medium size, grease it lightly.

2. Take a shallow bowl of medium size; add garlic powder, pepper, lemon powder, cayenne pepper and salt in it. Mix all these ingredients properly.

3. Take fish fillets and brush both sides of them with butter and then coat the fillets the garlic powder mixture.

4. Take a large heavy frying pan, heat it over medium high heat. Then add fish fillets in it and fry them for about 2 minutes from each side until they get slightly blackened. Now place the fried fish fillets in greased baking dish in one layer and coat them with salad dressing.

5. Place the dish in preheated oven and bake the fillets at 350 degrees F for about 30 to 35 minutes until the fish gets flaked easily with fork.

Catfish Cakes Recipe

Ingredients
1. Egg (1)
2. catfish fillets (1pound)
3. vegetable oil, for frying (1c)
4. coarsely crushed buttery round crackers (2 1/2c)
5. Old Bay seasoning TM (1/2tsp or to taste)
6. creamy salad dressing (1tbsp)
7. prepared yellow mustard (1tsp)
8. chopped onion (1med.)

Method Of Preparation:-
1. Take a saucepan, place it over heat. Place fish in it and then add enough water in the pan to cover the fish. Keep it to boil and then cook the fish until it gets easily flake with fork.

2. Now mash the cooked fish with a fork and then add onion, egg, cracker crumbs, old bay, salad dressing and mustard in the mashed fish. Mix all these ingredients until they get well blended.

3. Take a large heavy frying pan, place it over medium heat and then heat oil in it. Make patties of the fish mixture and then put them in hot oil to fry.

4. When the fish cakes get fried then place them on paper towel to drain. Now fish cakes are ready to serve. Serve them hot with sauce.

Oven Fried Catfish Recipe

Ingredients
1. Skim milk (1/2c)
2. yellow cornmeal (1/2c)
3. dried thyme (1tsp)
4. catfish fillets (1 ½ pounds)
5. cooking spray
6. ground black pepper (1/2tsp)
7. garlic powder (1/2tsp)
8. celery seed (1/2tsp)
9. salt (1tsp)
10. paprika (1tsp)
11. onion powder (1/2tsp)

Method Of Preparation:-
1. First heat the oven to 425 degrees F or 220 degrees C. Take a baking sheet, line it with foil and then use coking spray to coat it.

2. Take a dish, add thyme, cornmeal, celery seed, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and paprika in it. Mix all these ingredients well and keep the dish aside.

3. Now take fish fillets, first dip them in milk and then coat them with cornmeal mixture. Then place the coated fillets on the greased baking sheet. Coat the fish fillets with cooking spray.

4. Place the baking sheet in preheated oven and bake the fish fillets at 425 degrees F for about 15 minutes until the fish becomes soft and gets easily flake with fork. Now the fish is ready to serve.

Stir Fried Catfish Recipe

Ingredients
1. Catfish fillets (4)
2. soy sauce (3tbsp)
3. lemon juice (3tbsp)
4. Snow peas (1c)
5. sliced celery (1c)
6. vegetable oil (3tbsp)
7. pepper (1/4tsp)
8. salt (1tsp)
9. water (3/4c)
10. cornstarch (2tbsp)
11. fresh mushrooms, sliced (1c)
12. red pepper, thinly sliced (1c)
13. hot cooked rice (to serve)

Method Of Preparation:-
1. First take catfish fillets and cut them into 2 x ¾” strips. Take a bowl, mix soy sauce and lemon juice in it. Marinate fish in this mixture for about 30 minutes.

2. Take a large frying pan, place it over heat. Add 2 tablespoons of oil in it and heat it for about 2 minutes. Add celery in the pan and stir fry it for about 2 minutes. Then add mushrooms, snow peas and red pepper in it and stir fry them for 2 minutes.

3. Now take out the vegetables from the pan and keep them aside. Add rest of the oil in the frying pan and heat it for 2 minutes over medium high heat. Now drain the fish and keep aside the lemon and soy marinade.

4. Place the fish in frying pan and stir fry it for about 2 minutes and then put the vegetables in the pan. Take a bowl, mix cornstarch, pepper, salt and water in it.

5. Put this mixture and reserved marinade into the frying pan. Cook it for about 2 minutes until the mixture gets slightly thickened. When the stir fried fish gets ready then serve it over the cooked rice.
